Subject: Scheduled Server Maintenance Tomorrow with intermittent follow-ups

Hey there!

We wanted to give you a bit of an advance notice, that starting tomorrow (Tuesday, Ago 22), we will be undergoing several maintenances, as part of our database cluster upgrade.

The reason behind the update is to migrate from our current SQL Aurora 2.11.2 to a newer Aurora MySQL 3.03.1 cluster, which is far more performant and cheaper to run, in order to improve overall performance, and reduce our monthly upkeep costs.

While most of the upgrades will be able to be done pretty quickly and in parallel to not obstruct site functionality, there will be several tests & non-scheduled maintenance required, to ensure everything runs properly.

Due to the nature of the upgrade and the required tests (some tests require the new cluster to run for up to a week to test all scenarios), we might be going in and out of maintenance during the following week, starting tomorrow.

Most of these maintenances are likely to be around an hour long, but it is possible they will be lasting for longer periods in case we run into any issues or delays. Expect most intermittent downtimes to be around GMT working hours.

That said, our websites should be able to be used most of the time normally, but in case they are at any point down, we suggest simply checking back in an hour or so, and in the meantime grabbing a coffee or going for a walk 🙂

• At this time we expect the ad issues in our sister sites Paidverts and PTCShare to run normally through the week, but we might make an “ad hoc” decision to delay or issues them on a follow-up day if we might deem they would complicate the transition.

** Once we have successfully finished the upgrade, we will also follow up with new promotions and events!
